Home/Garden Rooms/Bars & Entertainment Rooms
Garden rooms · Essex
A bar, a media wall, proper lighting and sound — a room for evenings and weekends that feels like a venue, not a shed with a fridge in it.
What an entertainment room has to get right
01
Built-in bar with worktop, back-bar storage, under-counter fridge space and lighting, fitted by the same team that builds the room.
02
A plastered media wall with recessed TV, concealed cabling, LED lighting and acoustic panelling where you want it — from the Essex Home media wall division.
03
Layered LED lighting on dimmers, feature lighting outside, and speaker and data points planned at drawing stage.
04
Insulated and heated so it’s used in December, with air conditioning available for summer evenings with the doors open.
A typical entertainment room specification

Planning
It depends on the size, position, height and intended use of the building, and on your property. Many garden rooms can be built under permitted development, but not all — and we won’t tell you otherwise before we’ve looked. Where planning or Building Regulations apply, we identify it during the design stage.
